Robin just competed in the Molokai to Oahu (M2O) 32 Mile World Championship Paddleboard Race across the Ka’iwi Channel. What is your favorite dryland workout: A 90 minute Hot Flow class at Hot House Yoga in Virginia Beach, Virginia

What is your favorite water work out: When there is wind: a downwind paddle. When there are waves: a surf session!

What activities do you do in JOLYN: I live in my Jolyns. I wear them every time I’m in the water and when I’m practicing and teaching yoga; I even went skydiving in my Spangled Hunter top yesterday.

What's your favorite JOLYN color: All of the America prints!

What's your favorite JOLYN style and why: Jordy tie-back onesies. From all my years of swimming, I’ve never found a suit as comfortable, functional, and cute as my Jordy tie-backs. 

What's your favorite beach that you have been to and what beach is on your list to go to: My favorite beach is Ga’an Point in Agat, Guam. My grandpa came ashore on that beach during World War II and when my family lived on Guam, I actually went to elementary school right across the street. The beach that is at the top of my list to go to is Thompson Bay on Rottnest Island in Western Australia. I want to do the Rottnest Island Channel Swim and that’s the beach where it ends.

What are 3 things on your bucket list: I actually have an animal bucket list of animals I want to hang out with that is really detailed, long, and ambitious. It includes: 


1. Swim with manatees in both Florida and Belize
 2. See Lions in Masai Mari National Reserve in Kenya and Serengeti National Park in Tanzania
 3. Swim with humpback whales in Tonga


What motivates you: It’s really easy to forget all the possibility that lays ahead but that only makes remembering how much potential we have even more important. I see so much potential in myself and the people around me and it really motivates me to bring out the best in my community and myself. 


If you were 60 years old, what would you tell your children: Believing in yourself is such cliche advice to give but it’s also some of the hardest advice to take. It’s so important to not only believe in yourself but to never stop believing in yourself and all you can achieve, to banish fear from your script, and surround yourself with people who believe in you unconditionally. I’d also tell them to travel... and then go travel some more. 


What is the craziest thing you have ever done:
I went hiking in the Grand Canyon by myself for my birthday this year. I missed a turn coming out and ended up getting pretty lost. The trip was an awesome experience and I can’t wait to go back… and not get lost. 

What's the most inspiring race you've ever seen:  Mark Matheson’s 2015 Molokai to Oahu paddle. Mark is paralyzed from the chest down and had crossed the channel multiple times but this year the paddle took him 11.5 hours. His determination and strength of character is truly inspiring. I feel extremely fortunate to call him a good friend.

What book would you recommend to our readers: I would recommend the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed but I’d also recommend having a box of tissues near by. I started reading it last year while I was waiting at a crowded airport gate for my flight to Tasmania. It was so good I couldn’t put it down but I also couldn’t stop crying and probably looked pretty silly sobbing waiting for my flight.

What is your signature dish in the kitchen: Brussel sprouts. Kristi, my fellow Mid-Atlantic rep, is going to laugh when she reads this because every time she comes overs, brussel sprouts are pretty much all she gets to eat.
